Is Assam Don Bosco University recognised by UGC?

Assam Don Bosco University is set up by an Act of the Assam Legislative Assembly (Assam Act No IX of 2009 dated 12 February 2009) and is recognised by UGC (F. No. 8-13/2009(CPP-I) dated 13 November 2009)


Are the B. Tech and MCA courses approved by AICTE?

The B. Tech. programme of Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology has been approved by AICTE from 2008 and MCA from 2009. Both programs have received the renewal of approval from AICTE, the latest being No. : Eastern Region/1-40338531/2010/EOA.


How can I get a prospectus?

You can purchase a prospectus in any of the following ways.

You can view the prospectus on-line at the university web site by selecting the program you need under Admission and clicking the link for downloading the prospectus. However, this does not give you an application number and password.


What is the cost of the prospectus?

Cost of Prospectus                                   : Rs. 500.00

How do I apply for admission?

Applications for admission are to be submitted on-line. You must login with a valid application number and password. Visit the Don Bosco University website: and click the online application link. You will be re-directed to the site given below.

You may also go to the above site directly.

The application number and password for login are pasted on page 1 of your prospectus.

After you login, fill in all the required data in the on-line application form. The filling up of the application can be done in one or more sessions. You can save the work of each session by clicking the Save button in each page of the online form. There is a Submit button on the last page. Click this only when you are sure you have entered all the required data. Once you submit you cannot modify your data by yourself. If further modification is needed please send a mail to giving your application number, name and the data that you want to add, delete or modify. You may call 09436702524 to confirm whether the changes have been made or not.


Is there any printed application form for admission?

There is no printed application form. The application process is fully on-line.


What information do I need to provide to apply on-line?

You need to fill in the following data in the online application form:   Personal  and Contact details of applicant and parents Address, Contact Numbers, e-mail ID, Date of birth, community, etc. Academic details    of all the examinations you have done (Board, institution, subjects, marks, etc)


Can I apply online before my Class XII results are declared?

Yes you can apply online for the B. Tech. programme even though your class XII results are not yet declared. You can fill in the rest of the data in the application form and save it. However, do NOT click ‘submit’ button so that you can enter your class XII marks and may be also the scores of AIEEE or CEE tests when they become available.


Do I have to write any entrance test for admission for B. Tech.?

An entrance test is mandatory for admission to the B. Tech. course. We accept the scores of AIEEE or CEE or DBU-GET. If you have appeared for more than one test, your best score will be considered for admission. We have a process of ‘normalising’ your scores so that they can be compared.


Is there any special provision for meritorious students?

We welcome meritorious students to Don Bosco College. For the B. Tech. programme we offer free studentships and incentive schemes for students with high performance. There are 10 free studentships for the rank holders and for those securing over 90% in PCM of the eight states of North East India in class XII Science examinations on a first-come first-served basis. They would not be required to pay the tuition fees; other fees would be applicable. Another 20 applicants with 80% or more in PCM will be eligible for a 50% reduction in tuition fees on a first-come-first-served basis. These candidates should have appeared for a valid Engineering Entrance Test. The students benefiting from these incentives will be eligible for their renewal in subsequent years subject to their obtaining 80% or above in every semester examination.


Is there any hostel facility?

There are hostels for men and women to accommodate about 500 students – 300 for men and 200 for women. The hostels offer a homely atmosphere of study, are wi-fi enabled and have back-up power supply.


How will my marks be verified?

The marks entered in the online application form will be verified against their original documents at the time of admission. Any discrepancy with the data entered in the online application form will automatically disqualify a candidate for admission.

Do my parents need to come at the time of admission?

Candidates coming for admission must be accompanied by their parents (either father or mother).
